Last Leaf
By: Aiden Power, Staff Writer
Sitting high in a tree, last of its kind
Clinging to its only branch of life
Its fluorescent orange tint draws the eyes of passersby from below
Cool air blows by; a hint of frost in its weaving path
The leaf trembles and shivers as the last of its warmth is ripped away
Its color fades; its loneliness sets in
A final gust brings the leaf to its knees
It falls…
falls…
falls…
Landing softly on the cool, hard ground
