Popsicle

By Alec M. Giacoletto — CHS Bonfire Advisor

Ice

More ice

And more ice

Frozen droplets team from the sky

Tumbling down

People start to dream about when the sun was high

Here

The mountains

And more mountains

Meet and greet among the sage and the grass

But winter makes residents feel caged en masse

Soon

The wind howls

And howls more

It rips like a hurricane slamming the coast

The kids are cramming by the fire to warm like toast

An old man sits to watch the world pass by

Bundled up, scarf wrapped

The weather man said “we’ll catch the warmth soon” but swirled into a lie

Before

Spring starts its show

Winter will have to slow

Sit back tight

We have a few more weeks of frozen might.
