Ode to Diet Coke
By: Kenley Stevens, Staff Writer
Oh, silver can, your contents sparking hope
The crack of your seal breaks the quiet morn
Start the day with joy, or rather to cope
Stolid to beaming, a grin I adorn
Sweet sugarless savior, whom I cherish
Effervescent, venomous fantasy
You are worth every drop, should I perish
What joy to entertain my vanity
Am I conforming to society?
Or should having a case a day cause shame?
Vanilla and lime trump propriety
Recipe perfected with aspartame
Those red cursive letters, a liberty
Soda and ice, a hazel synergy
