Springs Rising

By: Megan Pederson, Poetry Editor

As the snow melts and the days are longer,

I see the grass peek out from under the snow.

All nature lights up and becomes stronger,

The change from winter to spring is quite slow.

As animals burst from their winter homes,

The birds are traveling back from the south.

They are bringing their sweet melodies with;

Ready to be back in their biomes.

As the butterflies hatch from their cocoons,

Bees finally float onto their flowers.

Children enjoy the lush afternoons,

And the adults crave the fresh, spring showers.

Oh, sweet spring, bring the Earth back to life.

Oh, sweet spring, pave the way to summer's life.
