Snowy Abyss

By Megan Pederson, Poetry Editor

A lonely animal wanders down the road in the hope of finding sanctuary,

While gazing at the snow glistening on the trees,

The mahogany and rust-colored bushes,

And the fog hanging above the mountains;

Bears hide in plain sight under fallen wood,

Deer scavenge for food,

All while the bitter wind whips snow around.

There's more snow to come,

And no daylight for days.
