Spring Awakening

By: Ellie Talich

The earth awakens, heavy in morning light,

As petals bloom and birds begin to sing.

The chill of winter fades, now out of sight,

And colors dance with comfort of early spring.

The air is sweet with scents of flowers bright,

While the gentle winds through budding branches play.

The sun, once shy, now spreads its golden light,

And lengthening days bring joy to hearts at bay.

The rivers hum a soft, tuneful song,

As all of nature joins in harmony.

The days grow bright, the nights no longer long,

In spring, the world is full of tranquility.

Slowly, the earth renews itself once more,

With life and love in bud and pore.
