Good things come to those who wait?

Amali Wijesena

Good Things come to those who wait.

No, they don't, that’s a load of crap.

For good things,

you must work

and learn

and grow.

Those who wait, become frozen,

in time and progress.

They grow moss and their feet grow tired.

Eventually, they fade away, swallowed up by everything moving around them

the leaves

and weeds

and dead things alike.

Why stay stationary?

If you never move you will never know

what’s ahead or what lays behind.

Good things should never have to look for you.

Sure one might stumble upon you from time to time,

but not because you did anything to earn them.

You should always be searching for them

working toward deserving the good things that you meet.
