Vulture Culture

By Hannah Bertalot

The vulture has a hardy way of life.

Perhaps they don’t have the most grace,

 sometimes it leaves them with a less than kindly face,

 and sometimes their harsh reality leaves them feeling hollow.

Regardless, these birds always make it to tomorrow.

Just look at their philosophy, and it is quite easy to follow-

Cling on, cut into,

take it, and run with it like a knife.

They let nature take its course,

 and thrive on through beauty and rain;

Or weather through broody days and pain.

They’ve descended millions of years from dinosaurs,

and they can credit that to just one source;

Resilience is always their guiding force.
